Song Stuck In My Head This Week - 19th December '10 - Cher - You Haven't Seen The Last Of Me

I know it's only a few weeks since I last posted about a Cher song from the 'Burlesque' soundtrack but, aside from the songs being particularly catchy and getting stuck in your head, Cher's two songs from the soundtrack are seriously good.

This week's song, in my opinion, is one of the greatest songs Cher's ever recorded and it has so far gained nominations in both the Critics Choice Awards and the Golden Globes as well as being long-listed for selection for the Oscars.

'You Haven't Seen The Last Of Me' is a soaring empowerment ballad that channels the emotions of being seemingly at rock bottom but knowing that you're not knocked down that easily. I'm sure Cher managed to tap into the memories of her life experiences when recording this song as it oozes real emotion and feeling. I know I find this song inspirational, especially on the days when it feels like there's no hope and that my life is going nowhere.

In the 45 years since she first hit the music scene, Cher has become not only a renowned singer but also a record producer, movie director and an Oscar winning actress. With the new movie 'Burlesque' and it's astounding soundtrack it shows that it'll be a long time before Cher gives up her crown as the Goddess Of Pop. I also hope this song wins every award it's nominated for as I think it deserves it.

I hope you like this week's song as much as I do!

Chere - You Haven't Seen The Last Of Me

Feeling broken
Barely holding on
But there’s just something so strong
Somewhere inside me
And I am down but I’ll get up again
Don’t count me out just yet

I’ve been brought down to my knees
And I’ve been pushed way past the point of breaking
But I can take it
I’ll be back
Back on my feet
This is far from over
You haven’t seen the last of me
You haven’t seen the last of me

They can say that
I won’t stay around
But I’m gonna stand my ground
You’re not gonna stop me
You don’t know me
You don’t know who I am
Don’t count me out so fast

I’ve been brought down to my knees
And I’ve been pushed way past the point of breaking
But I can take it
I’ll be back
Back on my feet
This is far from over
You haven’t seen the last of me

There will be no fade out
This is not the end
I’m down now
But i’ll be standing tall again
Times are hard but
I was built tough
I’m gonna show you all what I’m made of

I’ve been brought down to my knees
And I’ve been pushed way past the point of breaking
But I can take it
I’ll be back
Back on my feet
This is far from over
I am far from over
You haven’t seen the last of me

No no
I’m not going nowhere
I’m staying right here
Oh no
You won’t see me begging
I’m not taking my bow
Can’t stop me
It’s not the end
You haven’t seen the last of me
Oh no
You haven’t seen the last of me
You haven’t seen the last of me
